About Me

Hello! I'm Tennessee Kamanski Dennis, a birth + postpartum doula serving San Diego county. I am a firm believer in the innate wisdom of motherhood, and the perfection of undisturbed, natural childbirth.

 

I have the upmost belief and trust in women's strength and capacity. Coupled with a practical knowledge of physiological childbirth, my hope is to share this confidence and inspire mothers to reach their highest potential during what can be a healing and life changing experience. When a baby is born, so is a new mother. When birth is respected and honored, it becomes a powerful transformation.

I felt called to this line of work after a very moving experience caring for my grandfather at the end of his life. After witnessing him leave this world so gracefully, I knew I wanted to be a steward to those who bring life into it. I followed my passion for wellness and caregiving, and discovered the role of a doula. I received my certification from the International Doula Institute in August of 2022, and have been joyfully serving families ever since. After attending my first birth, I knew I was doing exactly what I was meant to.

I was born and raised in San Diego, and live here with my wonderful husband Aaron and our cat, Jibby. In addition to my work as a doula, I am a songwriter and guitarist, and love to cook, hike and read. I'm very interested in bioenergetic nutrition, and am passionate about family, wellness, and strong communities.

My goal, should we work together, is to empower you with a holistic and ancestral approach to birth and motherhood, and most importantly to ignite your trust in the incredible ability that has been your's all along.
